MAGISTER
1982 | Antonio Citterio & Paolo Nava
Designed in 1982, this legendary sofa is meant to play a starring role in the home or in public spaces, like waiting rooms, lobbies or corporate offices. Its understated, minimal aesthetic is the result of finely-crafted upholstering that demonstrates the company’s ability to produce furnishings that express the perfect marriage between an aptitude for innovation and the kind of tradition that stems from years of experience in classic upholstering. Available in versions upholstered in fabric or leather, Magister shows off to its best advantage in the latter, in which the unadulterated design of this sofa is exalted by the exquisite tufting. In the Magister sofa, the traditional buttons have been replaced with a more modern two-hole tufting technique. Lifted off the floor on satin metal feet, the Magister sofa comes with goose-down-filled cylindrical armrests and features a retractable metal shelf behind the seat back that, thanks to an ingenious mechanism, transforms the Magister sofa into a handy, and comfortable, single bed.
